Two consecutive wins and all I’ve read is negative press. What’s going on here? A great quote came after the Monday night game with the Saints – from an old Bud Grant article “You never have to apologize for a win.” Bud Grant. I think we all fall into the trap of needing to dominate every game, but I caution you. If my recollection is correct; at this time last year the Patriots we’re unstoppable and the Giants were almost written off. May I remind you who the current reigning champion is - the New York Giants!
The one observation I have (that I didn’t find in the press – go figure): this team didn’t quit – at all. It takes a team of character to fight for 60 minutes, get past mistakes (which are fixable I might add), stop the opponent when needed, move the ball when needed and score points with virtually no time on the clock and win. I personally like this quality – good work guys. Six sacks in the Lion’s game – four from Kevin Williams and a safety by Jared Allen, not a bad defensive effort. The passing game was close to 300 yards and Bernard Berrian had his second consecutive 100 day – this is nothing but good news for Adrian who also rushed for 100 yards against the Lions (and he looks ready to explode).
Next week the Bears and we’ll come after them – see you all at the club on Sunday before our one week football withdrawal.

We are looking for 2 – 3 copies of the Viking update “Summer 2008” edition. This issue has a wonderful article about Gary Anderson. It’s Gary’s family that requested these issues. For those of you that remember Lauren and Harry (Gary’s sister and brother in-law) were club members and still stay in contact from time to time. I would like to know before the bye week if anyone has this issue so we can arrange to have this shortly after the bye week – thanks in advance for your help.
