Club Members,

The Basics:
We saw what our team can be in the second half of the Panthers game – not to mention Antoine Winfield’s sack, fumble, fumble recovery and touchdown. We brought out the beast a little on defense – and it looked good. The Titan’s game reminded us that we need to stop making mistakes. The turnovers and penalties stopped us too many times. The common theme to this start is: yes we lost three games, but, we haven’t been beaten once. The team needs our support now – more than ever. Monday night we turn this season around – as shown in the Panthers game, all we need is the spark. This team will ignite!

Club Information:
Our Jim Marshall for the Hall of Fame campaign has started. Our mission is to have every club member write a letter to the Hall of Fame selectors voicing their opinion on the subject. I would like to see letters written every week from now to next training camp. We ask for four things when doing this: 1) be passionate in your own words – although we will have help on or website with sample letters. 2) Be factually correct – the truth is always the truth. 3) Be respectful – we are the Southern California Viking Club. 4) Please sign your name with city and state on your letters. I want the selection committee to realize we’re from everywhere with the same common goal – to get Jim Marshall into the Hall of Fame.

In order to help in this campaign we have already started a Jim Marshall page on our website. The page is filled with pictures and facts of Jim’s career. We are looking for more pictures and facts – if you have any please email them to me at the email address below or use the contact us page on our website. We also have 95% of the email addresses for the selection committee as well as the senior selection committee. These will be on the site soon if not already there. These pages are growing fast – check back often, the information you’re seeking may have been added.

We are also searching for group “Purple People Eaters” pictures, players’ pictures (current and alumni), fan loyalty pictures and anything else that will improve our website. Feel free to critique the website when you’re there – when we’re done, this will be the best Viking site on the net; you might as well participate in achieving our vision.
